Well, according to Ray, our weather is about to go North!! Our temperatures are going back to normal, after a few days of BEAUTIFUL weather. Our highs are in the 40s and lows in the 30s. Winter is coming!!!!
We're finishing up a couple projects . . . a planter in front of the H building to help prevent erosion of the bank and road and a look at the roof at the G building. Other than that, we are ready for winter and snow. Larry is ready with his plow and is wondering if the predictions will be correct . . . snowy and cold! Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
November is "choose and cut" month here in the High Country. We're starting to see LOTS of Christmas trees goin' by on cars. Be sure to come up and get yours. Nothing better than a Christmas tree straight from the mountains.
Here's hoping everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Eat lots!!!!
See ya in the mountains . . .

Rain, Rain, Rain
Hello HBVers,
It has been raining for at least 36 hours here in the mountains. Thankfully it hasn't been a real hard rain, but the water is a flowin'.
It seems that the grate that was placed on the side of the road between the F and G buildings is working. The water isn't flowing down into that parking area and wearing away the gravel, but we'll need a little more crush n' run gravel to prevent some more standing water, which can turn into ice during the winter.
We have a new homeowner at K144. We'd like to welcome Chris and Laurie Chilelli from Concord. They just closed on their unit at the end of October. Welcome to the neighbor Chris and Laurie.
The Beech Mountain Resort (otherwise known as Ski Beech) says they are going to blow snow at the earliest possible time. They seem to be talking about doing some great things at the Slopes, which will benefit the businesses and rentals. Let's hope it's a great ski season for everyone.
Well, winter weather is just around the corner. So, stay warm and we'll see you in the mountains!
