We had some snow Thanksgiving Day and then last weekend. The slopes are open and seem to be doing well. But, the big news is the temperatures for the next few days . . . the lows are expected to be 15 tonight, 10 on Thursday and 17 on Friday!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! We might have some snow on the weekend, but Ray (http://averyweather.com/Forecast/Beech+Mountain) isn't looking at much. We checked the heat in the units last month, so hopefully everything is set for the coldest temps so far this season.
The clubhouse is lit up for the season! You've got to see it at night. It's beautiful.
We've still got bears hanging around the dumpsters at night. If you can, don't put your garbage in the dumpster until Monday morning, when they pick up, or better yet, take it to the recycling center across from Fred's. Those bears are looking to put on some extra weight before they go night-night for awhile. They are hitting dumpsters all over the place and they aren't very considerate in picking up after themselves. Let's all make an effort to keep HBV neat and tidy and take your garbage to the recycling center.I hope to see you up here for the holidays to do some skiing. It's gonna be a great winter!
