Oh What A Beautiful Morning, Oh What a Beautiful Day . . .

It may be the beginning of the song from Oklahoma! but it sure does reflect the weather on Beech Mountain today. It was 45 when I woke up this morning and the Carolina Blue sky was just waiting for me. Not a single cloud to be seen!!!

October in the mountains . . . . Ahhhhhh . . . .

HBV is coming to the end of its maintenance season. We've still havea few projects going on:

1) fix the roof and gutters at the G building
2) build a rock planter in front of H to prevent the erosion of the road and bank
3) put in some water pipes to stop the erosion of the parking area between F and G
4) fix the lower deck in the K building
5) paint the steps on the stairs yellow for safety issues (and adding some sand so they are not slippery)
6) and the ongoing sliding glass door project will continue through winter until we're finished.

Winterization on all unoccupied units have been completed. Please don't forget to send your $5 for batteries for the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

We are just about finished putting out all the snow stations with shovels and ice melt.

Now we're ready for snow, snow, snow!!!

I sure hope to see you up here in the mountains!!
